Have you heard of SparkPeople? It's a FREE web site that has all of the tools you need to lose weight and get in shape and live a healthy lifestyle. There you will have a nutrition tracker with optional meal plan, fitness tracker that plans your workouts and lets you input your own workouts, message boards to get help and inspiration, and Teams where you can join based on location or interest. There are also monthly Boot Camps to motivate you to exercise. All they ask for you to do is 10 minutes of strength per day and 30 minutes cardio 5x a week.
I started using it and joined the January Boot Camp a couple of weeks ago. I lost 3.5 pounds this week! I feel great. I'm happy! I feel like I am reaching my goals. The best part about it is the community. You meet such marvelous folks who cheer you on and want you to succeed. You can even find a "buddy" so you can keep each other accountable.
The book, The Spark, is based upon all of the great advice from the web site. But it's more. It's motivational and it takes the road to a healthy lifestyle one small step at a time. You rejoice in each goal reached. And you can do it!
No matter what plan you are on to lose weight, you can use this book. The motivation alone is worth the price!
