Weekend Recap in Photos

Weight: 174.9 Freakin' hell.  Who can understand the ways of the scale?

Weight loss last week: -.5 pounds.  And I was on track to lose 2 pounds then there was a disturbance in the force.  Oh well.
-----------------------------------------
I already shared my fun Friday date (could have something to do with an unhappy scale?) so now on to Saturday and Sunday.
Boiled crawfish at Joe's Crab Shack. Bleck! Bland. No potatoes or corn for me.

A pretty dove in our front yard.

Brazos Bend State Park!

My peaceful place.

A happy Texan in need of some makeup and freckle remover. :)

The offspring getting along for 5 minutes.

This caterpillar will mess your world up! Seriously, they have a bad sting to them.

Beehive in a tree hole. Could hear them buzzing throughout the woods.
Swimsuit shopping is not fun.  There is no way to really hide the bumps and rolls.  It's almost like walking around nekked.  And the lighting in these dressing rooms? My thighs looked like the surface of the moon!  But I came to peace with this one piece. :)

Happy Monday to you!

  2. Kelly, that crawfish broil looks good but I am not a fan of crawfish. Replace it with some shrimp and some beef sausage and I would go for it.

  5. Looks like you had a very nice weekend! Love the swimsuit - love the color and the cut - very nice. I am wanting to get one with swim shorts on the bottom - I went camping last year with a group of woman all of them had these tank top looking swim tops with just black swim shorts - I love that idea, my upper thighs and hips are my areas I like to keep MOST hidden!! ha ha ha! ... I like your surface of the moon comment - I always tell my friend my ass has hail damage! LOL - she gets a kick out of that one.

  6. Love your photo recap! I've never liked crawfish boils - you think I would because they are spicy, but just looking at people sucking the heads off of crawfish was enough to turn my stomach.

    Happy Monday!

  7. your swimsuit is cute! AND no one feels okay in one. I work in one... kinda hard with hanging flapping skin... but whatever I love my job and I am mostly under water soon enough and then its all blurry unless you have good goggles.

  8. When I told you to "take a hike", I didn't mean for you to literally... oh whatever!

  10. I have a very similar suit! Twins again, lol! Agree with you on the dressing room lights - WTF is up with that? You'd think they would want you to feel all pretty so you'd actually buy something!

  11. Hey Girl! Question, how many carbs you think is in the Protein Pancake recipe? Like the swim suit...

  12. Kelly, if you're talking about the flax pancakes it's 3g net carbs per recipe.

  13. I "sort of" know about net carbs, I picked up the new Atkins book and have skimmed it. Do we need to count net carbs and not the total carb amount? I will read up on it.

The protein pancakes weren't the flax ones, this recipe (hell, I might have got it somewhere else! Yeah! Marisha's Loser for Life)
    1/2 cup old fashioned oats
    1/2 cup cottage cheese
    1/2 cup liquid egg whites
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    1/2 tsp cinnamon

  14. Kelly, I have made something similar that I got from Lori at Finding Radiance. The only difference is that it uses 1/3 cup of oats, egg substitute and cottage cheese. I used sparkpeople recipe calculator to calculate it and it comes out to 19 g net carbs.

Yes, just count net carbs for your total daily count. No counting fiber.

  15. Kelly one more question and I will leave you alone today, in your opinion what protein bar tastes the best. They are expensive and I don't want to go buy some and the taste be horrible. Thanks again for the support as I start this thing up!

  16. Make-up? Freckle-remover? I do not think so. I look at that picture and think, "Dang, she's gorgeous." Seriously. Beautiful lady.

What a nice trail for hiking/walking. I make do with noisy urban streets. Eh. Meh. At least we have a lot of plants and it smells good out there until a smelly car drives by. :)

  17. Kelly, you're never bothering me.

I haven't found a protein bar that I'm in love with. If I need a quick snack on the go I'll have an Atkins bar or something I can find with low sugar/carbs. The Atkins bars only have about 10g protein. Not much.

I usually just have a protein shake on the go. My favorite are the Jay Robb whey powders. Low carb (1g per scoop) and uses stevia as a sweetener. Plus they taste great! At least to me. :)

I just put a scoop (or scoop and a half) in some almond milk and shake it up real good. You could also make a smoothie with a few berries, almond milk, ice and protein powder. A lot of times you can find sample packages pretty cheap at places like the Vitamin Shoppe so you can try a couple of flavors and see what you like. They also have a large selection of protein bars. Just check out the carb counts and try a few.

The best protein bar? Beef jerky! Seriously.

  18. I have to agree with Chuck...you look beautiful sans makeup and fully freckled...just gorgeous!!!

Nice pics of family time...scary caterpillar.

    Bathing suit looks great!
