Christmas 2011

Christmas morning 2011. I got out of bed around 8am and stumbled to the kitchen to put on some coffee and start breakfast. Every year I make Chuck something called Christmas morning quiche that has hot sausage, eggs, sour cream and a lot of cheese. It fills two pie shells and it all belongs to him. Mostly because the kids don't care for it.

After the quiche is in the oven we wake the kids up to start the mayhem that is unwrapping gifts.

Rachel with her new car floor mats. She loves Nightmare Before Christmas.
Charlie wondering what he got. He gets so excited.
Laser tag by Nerf! He has had so much fun with this toy.
Charlie passes out hugs after opening each gift. So cute to see the kids hugging.
 A waterproof camera for Charlie!
Bake us some cakes from your new book, Rachel!
After breakfast and playing with toys, we went to the in laws' house for gifts and to hang out with them for a while.

The kids got pajamas and new laptops! OK, this is not a laptop. Charlie is still pretty excited about his new Nerf guns. He and Chuck ran around the house shooting each other. It was cute.
Rachel is so excited to have a new computer. Unfortunately we didn't get a picture of that moment when she opened it.
Then it was time to go home, start a fire and pu on dinner. I made an oven smoked brisket, bbq green beans, baked mac n cheese, and biscuits. OK, not the healthiest of dinners but it sure was good!

That night we played board games near the fireplace and laughed and had a great time. I'd say it was a very good Christmas. :)

Hope yours was filled with happiness and peace. Merry Christmas!!!
